Spoke too soon

"Oh well, if the most horrible thing I go through until "Labor Day" is leg cramps I can totally deal! " - quote from last post.

I spoke too soon...yesterday I went to the hospital. (SPOILER ALERT: EVERYONE IS FINE)

Here is the abridged version. Woke up at 3:30am to Baby T kicking like crazy and since I was all warm and snuggled against my husband she woke him up too and then neither of us could go back to bed, so I dozed/stared at the ceiling for the next 2 hours.

5:30am got up and showered, got around for the day, ate breakfast. Felt great - totally pumped for the day, even got to talk to Jana and Krista AND got to see their mom on the news.

9:00ish (end of 1st hour) not feeling so good, sort of light headed, ate a strawberry nutri-grain type bar.

9:30 (middle of second hour) Feeling worse, getting clammy and shaky. Eat some Club crackers (also muli-grain..gotta get that fiber)

10:00ish (Beginning of third hour) Feeling really crappy now and sweating. Feet are sliding around in my shoes and I am SO HOT! Eat some hummus with the crackers and get a carton of milk from the cafeteria. Cooks ask me if I feel okay - tell them I'm just tired.

11:00 Go to office to get a requisition to get groceries for class. Superintendent asks if I am okay because I am shaky and sweaty. Tells me to call my doctor. I call dr office, they ask a bunch of questions and tell me to go to hospital.

11:45 Get to hospital, can't find Baby T's heart beat at first (longest 2 minutes of my life), put on an extra monitor so heart beat will be recorded on the machine if she moves to the other side. Take blood and do a non-stress test. Baby T's heart beat goes up to 170 (should be around 130-150) for a few minutes and nurse looks really worried because Baby T begins to move very rapidly like she is trying to beat her way out. She is kicking the monitors strapped to my belly so hard the monitor is making a whapping and smacking noise. As her heart beat goes down she slows but is still kicking very hard.

NOTE: the monitors look like very large stethoscope ends and if you thump them it sounds just like tapping on the flat end of a stethoscope real hard.

12:30ish My blood pressure is gradually going down also, was way high when I got there but I think it was partially high and partially just me freaking out. Dr says blood work is in and my sugars are low. Still strapped to the monitors, still kicking like she's a UFC fighter.

2:30 I can go home...under Dr orders I am not to return to work or go to PT conferences tonight but if I feel up to it I can go to work tomorrow.

So...what do I do about this. Eat every few hours and make sure my hands and feet are not swelling, especially if I feel like this again.

Welcome to my world. Nothing too exciting going on here....I am a teacher and enjoy telling my friends about the interesting things that happen in my daily life. I find the most pleasure in the simple things that occur daily. Like the brilliant sunsets as I drive home from work or the way Maggie whimpers and paws when she dreams in the kitchen or the way Cody starts my car when he leaves for work just because he knows I don't like to be cold.
