Misconstrued

It was brought to my attention that the things I say in class could be misconstrued by those walking by in the hall.

While you can't hear most teachers from the hallway, you can always hear me. I do not scream all day, I do enunciate really well, and louder than the rest of the teachers.

Okay, I yell sometimes.

Anyways....today I tried to think of how my words would sound in the hallway.

I have to admit it, a lot of what I say can easily be misconstrued especially to someone with a dirty mind. Also I am funnier than I thought or I have a dirtier mind. Anyways here is a sampling of the day.

"Either of those places is acceptable just don't put it in your mouth." - when a student was asking if he should put raw cookie dough in the trash or a paper towel or if he could eat it.

"BAM!! Science in FACS class, is your mind blown?" - when discussing how lipids are another name for fats.

"Apples are like people, they are the same on the inside, different on the outside and some are better for different things" - 8th grade FACS. This was meant as we all have different skills and some apples make better pie.

Welcome to my world. Nothing too exciting going on here....I am a teacher and enjoy telling my friends about the interesting things that happen in my daily life. I find the most pleasure in the simple things that occur daily. Like the brilliant sunsets as I drive home from work or the way Maggie whimpers and paws when she dreams in the kitchen or the way Cody starts my car when he leaves for work just because he knows I don't like to be cold.
